Let me take you behind the scenes of a shift I didn’t see coming—but that completely changed the way I show up, attract clients, and position my value in the marketplace.
Not long ago, I was calling myself an AI Automation Expert.
And it made sense. I was building out smart, powerful AI systems that saved business owners hours of time, helped convert leads faster, and streamlined chaos into clarity. But even though I was delivering incredible results…
…something still felt off.
The DMs were slower. The calls weren’t converting like I had expected. And every time I said “AI Automation,” people kind of nodded—but their eyes glazed over.
Why?
Because I sounded like everyone else.
I realized I hadn’t been positioned in a way that made me the obvious solution. I had great skills. Great delivery. But my market positioning was watered down by buzzwords, broad promises, and no unique frame of value.
What Is Positioning, Really?
Positioning isn’t your product. It’s not your title. And it’s not your elevator pitch.
Positioning is the space you own in the mind of your ideal client.
It’s the difference between being seen as a “nice-to-have” and a “must-hire.”
It’s why two people can sell the same thing—but only one of them is booked out.
When your positioning is off, people may know what you do… but they don’t know why it matters to them, right now.
And that’s where I found myself.
The Wake-Up Call: Blending In with the Buzz
Everywhere I turned, I saw the same phrases:
✅ AI Automation
✅ AI Workflows
✅ AI Agents
The industry had exploded with tools and tech talk. And while I knew I was delivering real outcomes (not just tech demos), I realized:
💡 Nobody wakes up in the morning saying “I need AI automation.”
They wake up saying:
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I can’t keep up with my old and new leads.”
“I wish I had more time.”
“I need clients who are actually ready to buy.”
So if I kept leading with tech… I’d keep missing the people who needed me most.
Reframing My Position: From Techy Title to Tangible Transformation
I went back to the drawing board—not to change my offer, but to clarify the positioning.
I asked myself 3 big questions:
What’s the actual result I help my clients get?
What are they struggling with before they meet me?
How do I frame my solution in a way that’s unique and urgent?
After lots of reflection and client conversations, I landed on this new title:
👉🏽 Strategic Conversion Partner
Here’s why it works:
It speaks to outcome over tools.
It clarifies my focus on sales and conversion (not just tech).
It positions me as a trusted ally in their revenue journey, not just another service provider.
I help service-based business owners recover hidden revenue by turning old leads into new sales.
That’s a clear offer.
That’s powerful positioning.
And almost immediately, things started shifting.
Enhanced Messaging That Aligned with the New Positioning
Once I nailed the new positioning, I knew my messaging had to rise up to match.
Here’s what I adjusted:
1. My LinkedIn Headline
Old: “AI Automation Expert | Helping Service-Based Businesses Turn Old Leads Into New Booked Clients Using Our AI + SMS Conversion Engine | Founder | Speaker | Author | Visit My Website To Experience Our Free Demo
New: “Strategic Conversion Partner | Helping Service-Based Businesses Recover Hidden Revenue By Turning Old Leads Into New Sales | Founder, Pretti-Fly Marketing Group | Speaker | Author | Visit My Website To Demo Our Automated Revenue Recovery System Now!”
This shifted me from conceptual to concrete.
2. My Elevator Pitch
Instead of leading with “I help people automate with AI,” I now say:
“I help service-based businesses recover hidden revenue by turning their OLD leads into NEW sales.”
Simple. Outcome-driven. Specific.
3. My Content Focus
I stopped educating about tools and started storytelling around results:
Before & afters.
Pain points I help eliminate.
Wins from clients using my system.
When I embraced the title of Strategic Conversion Partner, it gave me the freedom to stop “explaining” and start positioning myself as the solution.
Why This Matters for You
You might be reading this thinking:
“But Tracey, I don’t even have a title yet…”
That’s okay.
Whether you’re brand new or reworking your brand for the third time, your positioning isn’t about being fancy or “nailing the perfect tagline.”
It’s about knowing what you solve, who you help, and why it matters right now.
Positioning is what elevates you from:
“Just another coach” to “the go-to coach for moms ready to launch digital products.”
“Just another VA” to “the time-saving partner CEOs depend on to stay in their zone of genius.”
And when your positioning is strong?
👉🏽 Sales get easier.
👉🏽 Leads feel warmer.
👉🏽 Confidence skyrockets.
Because you’re not chasing clients anymore—you’re attracting the right ones like a magnet.
Action Steps to Refine Your Positioning
If you feel like you’ve been blending in or struggling to stand out, try this exercise:
Write out what you currently say you do. Be honest. Is it vague? Buzzword-heavy?
List the exact results your best clients got from working with you. (Ex: booked 10 calls, closed 3 new clients, saved 15 hours/week)
Ask: How can I position this result as a partnership, not just a product or service?
Draft a new positioning statement. One that’s outcome-focused, client-centered, and confident.
Try this template:
“I help [who you help] solve [specific problem] so they can [desired outcome]—without [what they want to avoid].”
Example:
“I help busy moms turn their passions into digital products that generate consistent income—without burning out or posting nonstop.”
Final Thoughts
Don’t be afraid to evolve.
Sometimes the shift from being “good” to becoming undeniable is simply one of positioning.
We’re not here to just “build a brand.”
We’re here to solve real problems and get real results—for real people.
So take a moment today and ask yourself:
Does my current positioning reflect the power of what I really do?
If not—good news. You’re only one shift away from standing out in a sea of sameness.
Keep going, Mama.
You’re building something that matters.
With love and belief,
